What does the SBI do?
Our activities focus on linking landlords, residents groups and individuals for the benefit of all.
The SBI has organised conferences, seminars and visits where the members can share ideas, ask questions and learn from each other. You can download reports from our past conferences here.
We have worked with other organisations, including the Environmental Protection Service of Glasgow City Council when recycling services were being introduced to Glasgow tenements. Community Recycling Network Scotland, Scottish Waste Action Group and the Glasgow Science Centre are some of our other partners.
We have already raised awareness among policy makers and funders about the potential that backcourts offer, the practicalities of regeneration and the need for investment. We aim to raise that awareness further.
Our current programme includes:
- The development of this web site as a source of inspiration and information for all those thinking about backcourt improvements
- The development of the SBI Network, with regular events where members can come together, share ideas and learn of new projects, and visit some completed projects together.
The SBI Network currently has around 30 members, why don’t you join?
